Character Creation and Profiles.
« on: November 20, 2015, 03:27:41 am »
2nd level 13th Age Characters. Homebrew content is available after GM review and approval. Basically, just bounce it off me first.

For Stats, PCs  can have 8, 8, 11, 14, 15, 17, or do a 28pt buy, although the array is a bit better.

Gear is default by class. I'll probably toss out a few potions or Runes early on.

A link, as the picture will not embed. NSFW.

Name: Robin Harris
Race: Human
Class: Wizard
Gender: Female
Icon: The Priestess
Backgrounds:  Arcane Librarian (5), Courier (3), Home Builder (2)
Unique thing:
  • Unlikely Story: Robin owns her own private library filled with strange books and musty tomes, nestled on a street corner in a shady part of town. The location used to be a big pile of rubble before she fixed it all up. Oddly enough, she paid for it all through being a courier, delivering packages here and there for a paltry sum. While most doubt that the source of money truly came from such a low-paying job, the real question is: who would pay such a large amount for a third-party courier, and what was it that she delivered that demanded such an unlikely payday?
  • The Priestess (2 Positive)
  • The Shadow Prince (1 Conflicted)

  • Cantrip Mastery
  • High Arcana
  • Wizard's Familiar

  • Human: Linguist
  • Level 1: Convenience Magic (Adventurer Tier Cantrip Mastery)
  • Level 2: Further Backgrounding (Adventurer Tier)

Str: 8
Dex: 14
Con: 14
Int: 18
Wis: 14
Cha: 10

HP: 32
AC: 14
PD: 14
MD: 16
Initiative: +4 (Roll Twice, Take Either)

Spells: (The Usual Loadout)
  • High Arcana: Counterspell
  • Charm Person
  • Color Spray
  • Magic Missile
  • Shield
  • Shocking Grasp
  • Utility Spell: Disguise Self

Cantrip Mastery Feat:
  • Minor Disruption (High Arcana: Counterspell) - The target's next spell doesn't quite go off the way they planned it, though the change does not affect the potency of the spell. For example, disrupting a magic missile spell might cause the bolt of magic to scream and pop like a bottle rocket. It still hits and deals damage, but the unusual noise might startle those nearby. As a quick-action cantrip, Minor Disruption is cast before the other spellcaster casts their spell instead of interrupting like Counterspell does, essentially acting like a little magical trap or prank.
  • Subtle Charm (Charm Person) - This causes a person to take a little extra notice of the caster. Not every much, but just enough to give her an edge. A subtle drawing of the eye does wonders sometimes, giving even the most plain of people a chance to stand out from the crowd. Perfect for being chosen out of a crowd for magic shows, getting a romantic interest to meet your gaze, or subtly getting the attention of a person without drawing any unwanted attention to yourself.
  • Silent Image (Color Spray) - Casts a minor illusion that is purely visual. Makes great distractions in a sneaky situation, disguises small inanimate objects, and makes the best shadow puppets.
  • Pester (Magic Missile) - Shoots a small, invisible bolt of force. Too small to deal damage, it's more of a very long-ranged poke. Mostly used by younger siblings looking to take their "I'm not touching you!" game to a whole new level.
  • Force Disc (Shield) - Creates a small plane of force about three feet wide. While it can't stop the advance of an angry orc, or hold a door shut, it can be used to carry something heavy, like luggage. It follows the caster closely wherever it's made. Also works well as am umbrella, a bench, or to block off annoying winds while trying to light a fire.
  • Buzzer (Shocking Grasp) - Adds a little jolt of excitement to any handshake. Alternatively, the voltage can be a pleasant tingle that tickles the skin instead of a shocking jolt.
  • Magic Makeup (Utility Spell: Disguise Self) - A spell that can change an aspect of a person as opposed to a full disguise. Something like changing eye or hair color, fill out the chest a little to seduce, or cover up an embarrassing tattoo. Great for keeping distinguishing features at bay when someone's trying to find you, or enhancing the body for seduction.

  • Alert. +2 to wisdom-based checks.
  • Talkative. Familiar can communicate with good ol' words.

Ok, I think I'll be rocking a wood nymph cleric of Love and Beauty.

(Nymph is just something I came up with real quick, gives a +2 to charisma and the gnome's;
 Confounding (Racial Power)
Once per battle, when you roll a natural 16+ with an attack, you can also daze the target until the end of your next turn.

Name: Willow
Race: Nymph
Class: Cleric
Domain: Love/Beauty, Life/death, healing
Gender: Female (With a little something extra)
Icon: The High Druid
Backgrounds: Defender of the Forest (3), Seductress (5)
Unique thing:
  • Lover of the Icons: Willow has had several intimate relationships with some of the Icon's champions, and even some Icon's themselves when in mortal form.
  • Mission of Beauty: Willow is traveling away from her forest to seek those of beauty and influence to gain more support for her lover (The High Druid). However if you approach her and have neither, you best watch your self.
  • The Diabolist (1 Conflicted)
  • The High Druid (3 positive)
Feats: Linguist (Adven.) Healing domain (adven.)

Initiative: +3
Recovery Dice: 10

  • Javelin of Faith
  • Cure Wounds
  • Spirits of the Righteous
  • Turn Undead
  • Bless

When I was thinking her up she was going to be a cleric to a fertility goddess, but since none of the icons really fit that description we can say it's more of a conceptual kind of faith.
For the conflicted relationship with the Diabolist is because Willow gets along with her much better then she really should considering who and what the Diabolist is. They seem to have very similar personalities and Willow will often call on her when faced with an ugly, uninfluential creature.
Willow herself is on a personal mission to twist favor to the High Druid though the use of her body and mind on the beautiful and powerful, all the while increasing the population where ever she goes, be it though her magic or a more personal touch. That being said anything that approaches her for these reasons that is not beautiful or influential should see a doctor soon because willow will see them as a blight and try to erase them from existence.
As for the prince; Willow caused a supplier to begin to divert their supplies to The High Druid at a rather critical time for the Prince. Not wanting to cause a war between the factions, Willow offered her services to the Prince to make amends.

Name: Ira Stonewell
Race: Human
Class: Barbarian
Gender: Female
  • Relic Seeker- 4
  • Tribal/Foreign Negotiator- 2
  • Jungle Survivalist- 1
  • Impromptu Medic- 1
Unique thing: Blood Affinity- Ira is more aware of blood than others, either due to the consequences of her birth, or her questionable heritage. She can smell and taste it in the air, hear it dripping from an open wound, even spot small cuts from far away more keenly than most people. She can even get a sense of someone's heritage and blood condition through this affinity, although it is rather vague at best. This is how Ira knows she is not fully human, and how she is somehow connected to the Orc Lord, although she doesn't know how or why.

  • The Orc Lord- 2 (Conflicted)
  • The Lich King- 1 (Negative)

Backstory- Ira was found as a baby in the midst of the aftermath of a vicious battle between 2 tribes by her adoptive parents, surrounded by blood and carnage. Fearing for the babe's life, especially if more forces would come to fight in the same area, they whisked the baby away from the wilds and took her to civilization, where she took to the city surprisingly well. Ira's parents were more than happy to raise her as their own, and even let her in on the family exploration business, which she enjoyed thoroughly. However, it was at the age of 13 that they all realized that Ira was destined for a much greater fate, when she was attacked by a panther during one of their expeditions. It was then that she experienced her first descent into the berserker rage, and promptly killed the beast with little but a knife in hand. This also awakened her affinity with blood, and since then, Ira has known that something was off about her, that she isn't quite 100% human. When she became of age, she began to set out on her own expeditions to find answers to her past, heading out further and further into the wilderness to see if she could discover any answers, but all she could find out up until recently is that is somehow tied to the Orc Lord...

And here's my Bard:

Brief Description:  Clarissa is a lithe young woman standing only 5'1", with soft pale skin and lustrous red hair flowing to her waist, clearly not working-class.    She favors fashionable clothing; among aristocrats she may wear an expensive gown that shows more skin, but prefers to keep herself covered while traveling among commoners.  She is used to getting her way, and may become flustered if that doesn't happen quickly enough.  She is naive, and unfamiliar with commoner life.  Despite being flirty, at the start of the adventure, she is still a virgin.

Name:  Clarissa
Race:  Human
Class:  Bard
Gender:  Female
  • Imperial Court Upbringing - 5
  • Spellsinger - 5
Unique Thing:  Legitimate granddaughter of the Emperor (See backstory below)

Icon Relationships:
  • Emperor - 3 (Conflicted)
  • Archmage - 1 (Conflicted)
  • Ritual Caster
  • Bardic Songs
  • Utility spells (from Jack of Spells Talent)

CON 13
DEX 17
INT 14
CHA 19

HP 32
AC 15
PD 13
MD 15
Initiative:  +5
Recoveries 8
Recovery roll 2d8+1

  • Jack of Spells
  • Loremaster
  • Spellsinger
Battle Cries:
  • Pull it Together!
  • We Need You!
Spells and Songs:
  • Battle Chant
  • Befuddle
  • Song of Heroes
  • Song of Spilt Blood
  • Jacked Utility Spells:  Featherfall, Hold Portal

Clarissa was born in the Thronehold palace in Axis, the only child of Prince Isaac, one of the Emperor's favored sons.  In addition to standard upbringing in the imperial court - etiquette, history, diplomacy, military arts, etc. - her talents in music and magic emerged early.  The Archmage himself recognized and evaluated her talent and assigned one of his own students as her tutor.  The tutor, however, found that although she was an apt student, Clarissa was not the most disciplined, treating magic playfully rather than as a serious study. She would escape her lessons and make herself the center of attention, charming (not magically... well usually not magically) palace courtiers, guards, and servants with her convivial wit and melodious voice (and it doesn't hurt to be extremely cute too).  As a debutante, among other palaces and aristocratic locales, Clarissa was introduced to the Garden of Delight.  Finding the artistic beauty and playful atmosphere far more to her liking than the centers court proceedings and martial prowess, she came to spend much of her time at this palace.  Here, she found a bard whom she asked out of genuine interest (and not forced schooling) to teach her to define her magic more specifically.  And here, she had much closer access to the highbrow parties of the city, and she would host her own, entertaining others with song and dance, story and wine.

She might have continued this idyllic party life had her political fortunes not changed drastically.  She doesn't know the details, finding out about this after the fact, but it was said that her parents were at the center of a failed clandestine attempt to overthrow the Emperor, after which they disappeared, whether imprisoned, executed, or fled.  While she was not implicated in the plot, Clarissa found herself caught in the middle of palace intrigues, as several factions viewed her with suspicion while others remained loyal to her.  One of those factions sought to remove her from the palace by convincing the Emperor to create a marriage alliance through her with a rather unsavory noble in the periphery.  Resolving to run away to avoid this arrangement, her escape was further complicated as another faction sought to remove her from the palace in a far more direct way.  As she left the city with the help of a small group of loyal servants, an assassin struck, slaughtering her entourage.  Clarissa barely escaped ....

Name: Elenae Stormael
Race: High Elf
Class: Wizard
Gender: Female
Icon: The Orc Lord
Backgrounds:  Opportunistic Arcanist (3), Courtesan of the Orc Lord (5)
Unique thing:
Everyone's favorite hedge witch: After being turned away from most traditional avenues of learning magic, Elenae has taken to trading whatever she can for knowledge from whoever she can get it from, including a rather... close relationship with the Orc Lord.

The Orc Lord (2 Positive)
The Archmage (3 Negative)

Cantrip Mastery
High Arcana

Highblood Teleport

Str: 11
Dex: 13
Con: 16
Int: 20
Wis: 15
Cha: 11

HP: 24
AC: 13
PD: 12
MD: 16
Initiative: +3
Recoveries: 8
Recovery Rolls: +10

Charm Person
Magic Missile
Utility Spell: Disguise Self

Cantrip Mastery Feat:
Subtle Charm
Magic Makeup
Mage Hand

Further Background: Despite a a rather deft affinity for magic and high intelligence, Elenae was turned away from almost all of the more traditional avenues of learning magic. Rather than let that stop her she became a petty dabbler in any facet of magic she could get her hands on. She'll trade anything with anyone for magical knowledge, including developing a questionably close relationship with the Orc Lord. Whatever their relationship, it goes beyond trading information for lore and artifacts ransacked from those he's conquered.
